THE AMERICAN DREAM
Apple :
The phrase “The American dream” is used in many ways, but it essentially is an idea that suggests that anyone in the US can succeed through hard work and has the potential to lead a happy, successful life.
It is a mixture of freedom, of opportunities and personal boldness, the American dream is the hope of a better life.
The Americans invented the expression: « from rags to riches » to describe this dream. It shows that everybody can succeed even if we start from nothing.
People have the freedom to get education, work in their jobs, and choose what they really need for their life. I guess the American dream means a perfect life plan for all kinds of humans.
Dreaming is nice and useful for motivation and the American Dream is a good example of it. But you also need to work to achieve it every day and in the meanwhile enjoy little moments in life.
The immigrants like the ones who arrived in hte USA in the 19th century still believed in the American dream. The statue of liberty is the symbol of freedom and of the American dream.

Grease
Grease or Brillantine in Quebec is a musical by Randal Kleiser released in 1978. The Grease 2 suite was made in 1982 but it was much less successful. The film tells life in an American senior high school in the late 1950s.
In the summer of 1958, Sandy Olsson (Olivia Newton-John), an Australian student on vacation in the United States, met Danny Zuko (John Travolta), the leader of the T-Birds. Their love is interrupted by the end of the holiday because Sandy must return to Australia. Chance makes that Sandy remains in America and that she is integral in the last year Rydell High, the same establishment that studies Danny. She meets a group of girls, the "Pink Ladies", led by Betty Rizzo. Without knowing that they are close, Danny and Sandy each tell their friends their love of holidays. Danny and Sandy end up meeting and decide to resume their relationship although everything contrasts them with the school. At the same time, the rivalry between the Danny gang - the "T-Birds" - and the gang of the "Scorpions" ". The race of cars in which they compete will be decisive.
- Betty Rizzo :of Italian origin, she is sarcastic and willingly launches wounding pikes, especially against Sandy. But under her authoritarian airs, a fragile girl hides. In love with Kenickie, she leaves him for a moment believing that she was pregnant but she ends up recovering with him at the end of the film.
- Marty Maraschino : the "runner" of the group, she corresponds with soldiers in Korea ("It's not a Navy, it's all the expeditionary force" declares Rizzo) and will have a thunderbolt for the beautiful old Vince Fontaine. It is the only Pink Ladies not to go out with a T-Bird until the end of the film where she will be with Sonny.
- Frenchie LeFebvre : she is as stupid as naive and she is very nice. Wanting to leave high school to learn the hairstyle, she will return to the disastrous results of her apprenticeship. Tint, it looks like "a beautiful blond pineapple". She goes out with Doodie.

FK (Poulet frit kentucky in Canada)
Based to Louisville in Kentucky, the company is a part of the group Yum!. The mark, based in the middle of the XXth century by colonel Harland Sanders, is known for its recipes with fried chicken.
In the 2010, the chain serves every day about 8 million customers in the world in his 18 000 restaurants, among which 79 % are managed franchised and distributed through 120 countries and possess a visible logo since espace. The presence of KFC in the world makes of the sign one of the leaders international in the industry of the fast food. His specificity is to propose only preparations with chicken.
In 1952, the first KFC restaurant is opened near Salt Lake City, in Utah. The young company is going to begin from then on to grow, to count 600 points of sale through United States. He parts from it in 1964 for 2 million dollars to a group of investors managed by the future governor of Kentucky, John Y. Brown, Jr. The latter, university graduate of right of Kentucky, commits Pete Harman as well as a financier of Nashville, John Jack Massey. The most notable modification will doubtless be the passage of a formula of restaurant have dinner in, where we are served to table, to a formula more anchored in the fast food: place the order and be been of use to the box. These transformations are a real success, both for the consumers as for the franchisees. Harland David Sanders, more known under the name of "Colonel Sanders", been born on September 9th, 1890 and died on December 16th, 1980, is a restaurant owner(restorer), an entrepreneur and a American philanthropist. He was the founder then the promoter(developer) of the fast food chain KFC.

A diversity
of landscapes in the United States
When we
think about the USA, we have sometimes a tendency to list the bad
aspects like junk food or Donald Trump but this country is a goldmine
on other plans like the diversity of landscapes. The United States
stretches on almost ten millions of km². There are as many
possibilities to find places in a huge and polluted city or in the
countryside with fields as far as the eye can see. But then, what are
these various landscapes and where do we find them?
The
most densely populated and tourist places are without any doubt the
big metropolis. New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago,
Seattle or Las Vegas. Even in the last ones, we find different
features. Miami and Los Angeles are beach resorts. But in Miami,
there is a marshy region too, the Everglades. Seattle is surrounded
by a forest, lakes, hills, a mountain range and a volcano, Mount
Rainier. Chicago is situated by lake Michigan. New York and
Washington are located on the east coast and Las Vegas is in the
middle of the Mojave Desert.
Far
from these big cities, we find even more authentic landscapes.
Louisiana is crossed by the Mississippi, this region is very marshy.
The Grand Canyon in Arizona in the east of the USA is a very rocky
place with the river Colorado which crosses it. In the middle of the
country, we can see rural and agricultural landscapes with vast
meadows and plains just as in Nebraska or Kansas. We can find
mountains, rivers and forests too like in Wyoming. States like Texas
are formed of different landscapes like tidal marshes, deserts,
mountains. And finally, in the north east, at the frontier between
the USA and Canada, there are the Niagara Falls which are water
falls.
